Just Magnolia Week #31 - Sketch by Mina

This week over on the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog there is a fab sketch provided by Mina. They also have a new DT member...DawnyP (congrats Hun x).

For my card I have used one of the new Christmas range and coloured her with Copics. The papers are all My Minds Eye "Glitter Christmas Stack" and I have layered them with some Bazzill cardstock. The flowers are a mixture of one from Tabby Crafts that only arrived this morning (Large blue one..Thanks Hun x) and some I got a while back from Wild Orchid Crafts, the greenery has been added with DCWV cardstock punched with my Martha Stewart Branch punch. Finally the sentiment was from a set of Studio G stamps from the US. I used my Rectangle Nestbilities to cut out the main image and also added Flowersoft in "Shamrock Green" and "Christmas Green" to the wreath...plus a little DecoArt Glamour Dust, which has also been added to Tilda's wings.

Just Georgia and I at home this weekend, so we have enjoyed the day staying inside in the warm out of the filthy weather...and have pretty much the same planned for tomorrow.

Daring Cardmakers "Scraplings"

This week over on Daring Cardmakers the theme is "Scraplings"....the cards you make with left over cardstock. These cards are 2.5 x 5.5 inches...the leftover bit from my A4 cardstock when I make a 5.75 x 5.75 inch card. I have also used scraps from one of my DT kits from Crafty Angels.
I kept the Thank You cards pretty simple just cardstock, papers. ribbon and bling. The stamp and punch are by Stampin' Up (US set) and the butterfly was cut with my Papermania Dimensional Butterfly punch.

With Christmas fast appoaching it is nice to send Thank You cards after, particularly when the kids write them themselves.

High Hopes Challenge 52 - Sketch by Lacey

This week over on the High Hopes Blog there is a fab sketch provided by Lacey. As I had already been playing with the Large Stacking Santa I decided to take the sketch and stretch it into an A5 card. I have coloured the Santas with my Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Beard - C1
Costume - R46/C5/C7/C9

The papers are all My Minds Eye "Winter Wonderland" and have been layered with some Bazzil Lustre cardstock and DCWV cardstock. All I have added to this one in the way of embellishments is some snowflakes created with my Martha Stewart punch, some bling and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

I think I have about 22 Christmas Cards made now....but I need to make more....last year I made about 60...all unique....and I am aiming for the same again.

The papers are all My Minds Eye "Winter Wonderland" and I have layered them with some Bazzil & Bazzill Bling cardstock. I have used my Nesties to create a background for my image to sit on, and it has been embossed with my new Cuttlebug Kars Snow Embossing Folder. I have also used a couple of Martha Stewart punches, one for the snowflake and one to create the double scallop. Finally I have added some bling and ribbon from my stash and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards. Also as you can see from the side shot below the papers are all glittered and I have added glitter to the Flowersoft I used on the image, some Doodlebug glitter on the bauble, DecoArt Glamour Dust to the snowflakes and some Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the wings on the main image...so it really dones sparkle.
I have also used the sketch over on Sketch Saturday, which I have rotated through 90 degrees.

On a happy note today, I won last weeks challenge over on the All That Scraps Challenge Blog....so I got to choose FOUR CC Designs stamps, so I chose the new Sweet November stamps.

Just Magnolia - Distressing!

This week over on the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog the theme is "Distressing". I decided to make a wedding card after getting the mini bride & groom stamps for the Magnolia stand at the NEC on Saturday. I put them on top of the cake by masking Tilda before I stamped Edwin so that he is just slightly behind the train of Tilda's dress. All the images have been coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Tilda's Hair - E53
Edwin's Hair - E47
Tilda's Clothing - E50/R20/G21/YR31
Edwin's Clothing - R20/C1/C3/C5
Cake - E50/R20/R21
The papers are all by DCWV from the "Be Mine" stack, including the sentiment which was cut from one of the sheets in the pad. I have added some lace, pearl bling and string from my stash. The gorgeous paper roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I have used my Martha Stewart "branch" punch to add some foilage.

I loved this challenge and think it is my favourite wedding card I have ever made.....now I just need someone to get married....LOL So a huge thanks to the DT for inspiring me.

Crafty Angels Weekly Challenge - Week 9 - Blue, Red & White

This week over on the Crafty Angels Weekly Challenge Blog we have a theme set my Mandy of Blue, Red & White. As I desperately need to crack on with my Christmas Cards I decided to use a couple of sheets of the My Minds Eye from the Winter Wonderland Glitter Stack available HERE. I didn't use a stamp this week as I wanted to make a card just using the gorgeous papers...and they really are stunning. I have added some Prima E blossoms (white) and a Prima Poinsetta, the centre of which I added some Stickles to in Inced Coffe available HERE. I have also used some bling from my stash and a round sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

A much simpler card from my....as no stamping, but with so many Christmas Cards to make sometime a different style is good.

Anyone for Anya?

This week over on the Anyone for Anya? Challenge Blog we have a recipe for you to use. We want you to use 3 Designer Papers, 2 Buttons and a Ribbon/Bow. We are also sponsored this week by Tracy @ Dies to Die For. We also have three new Guest DT members...Amanda, Beth and Nicole....so be sure to come over to the blog and check them out.

For my card I have used one of the Anya from the new Christmas Anya & Ian set and coloured them with Copics. I also added some polar white Flower Soft to the hood and sleeves of Anya's coat. The papers are all by My Minds Eye and I have layered them on some pink cardstock from my stash. I cut the circle and scalloped circle around Anya using my Nestabilities, the ribbon is by American Crafts and I used a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

Be sure to come over and join us to be in with a chance of winning Birthday Anya.

Sympathy Card...

During the week I found out from my Sister that my Dad's neighbour had passed away, having had health problems for as long as I have known him. So last night I came home from the NEC...and then a Firework Party and made a quick card for his wife to let her know we are thinking of her. Having only ever made one other Sympathy card....I was a little nervous. I think keeping the colours soft and serene and the card relatively simple is the way to go....so here is what I made...
What do you think?

So now that I am up, I have got to get a wriggle on as we are off to have dinner with the family down in Surrey today. I will be back again later this morning with my Anyone for Anya? card.

I had a fab day at the NEC, for me the best part was meeting up with my Blogging Buds and having a 2 hour lunch....I know 2 hours when there is stash to buy is a miracle, but it was a blast. I will be back with more details and pics later too.
